CARNIE WILSON – LOST 30 POUNDS

American Singer Carnie Wilson is the co-founder of Wilson Phillips, which is a pop music group she currently plays in. Wilson lost 150 pounds after a gastric bypass surgery 12 years ago. Gastric bypass surgery reduces stomach size and allows food to bypass a section of the small intestine. A silicone band is positioned around the stomach to create a golf ball-sized pouch in the lap-band technique. According to Dr. Oz, at least 15% of gastric bypass patients will recover all of their weight.

This is because, while the surgery reduces a certain degree of a person’s stomach, it does not address the emotional factors or lifestyle decisions that lead to obesity in the first place. Carnie is getting back on track thanks to Dr. Oz and his team’s 90-day program, which includes regular exercise and food journaling. Reportedly, last January, Wilson went under the knife again and had lap-band surgery and lost another 30 pounds since then.
