CHRIS PRATT – LOST 60 POUNDS
“Three to four hours of consistent, ass-kicking hard work every day.” Chris Pratt, the star of Guardians of the Galaxy, lost 60 pounds in six months this way. When he auditioned for the Marvel film, he weighed about 300 pounds.
Pratt worked with Duffy Gaver, a personal trainer, and Phil Goglia, the author of Turn Up the Heat: Unlock the Fat-Burning Power of Your Metabolism. His diet was overhauled by Goglia, who increased his calorie intake to 4,000 a day and added a gallon of water for every pound he weighed. P90X sessions, running, swimming, boxing, kickboxing, and even a triathlon were among Pratt’s workouts. The actor maintained his freshly chiseled physique by working out six days a week with a trainer while preparing for another appearance in the reimagined Jurassic Park. He acknowledged that he gained a certain degree of weight for his Parks and Recreation character on purpose, but now he is committed to staying ripped: “It gave me a sense of total control,” he said.
