BILLY CONNOLLY

Sir Billy Connolly is a retired Scottish stand-up comedian, musician, presenter, actor and artist. He has proven that being late in the party is not always a bad thing and what do we mean by that? For starters, many of his peers entered the entertainment industry at a very young age. Meanwhile, he was still working as a welder in a couple of shipyards back in the days. He later dropped his welder profession and tried his luck in the music industry as a folk singer.

With his jolly personality and quick wits, people found him funny and that also sparked the idea that he had a future in comedy. It turns out that he’s right and he received a bunch of recognition for that ranging from an honorary degree all the way up to knighthood. Connolly announced his retirement from comedy in 2018 and has established himself as an artist in recent years. “My art is about revealing myself,” he said.
