BOB BARKER
Bob Barker is known for having some of the longest hosting careers in American television history. His game show Truth or Consequences ran on-air from 1956 to 1974, while The Price Is Right, which he is known for, aired from 1972 to 2007. That marks the record for North America’s television history for the longest-running daytime game show.
In 1981, when his wife, Dorothy Jo, 57, died of lung cancer, he became an advocate of animal rights and animal rights activism, supporting groups such as the United Activists for Animal Rights and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. In 2007, he retired from hosting The Price Is Right after celebrating his 50-year career on television. It wouldn’t be possible if he hadn’t had top-notch skills in hosting, and he clearly showed it to his peers on how to run a game show properly. He probably needs to offer online classes to aspiring game show hosts and give a few tips and tricks.
