Born as William December Williams Jr., Billy Dee Williams is mainly an actor aside from being an artist and a singer. Billy is known for playing Lando Calrissian in the blockbuster film franchise Star Wars. Billy started to act at a relatively young age of seven. He intended to become a painter; he acted on the side in order to earn money and make ends meet while studying for a degree at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Design. Williams’ debuted in Brian’s Song and eventually starred in Lady Sings the Blues which propelled Billy to stardom. It is also worth noting that he had held several art exhibitions.

Having amassed wealth from his career, the Star Wars actor bought a half million dollar Beverly Hills estate in 1984. The manor sits atop a half an acre of land and is concealed by pagoda-style roofs. Williams invested on major improvements on his home that amount to almost $11 million dollars. However, it is reported that the actor put his mansion on sale for $12.9 million.
