Tippi Hedren | Born 1930
Undisclosed Amount – Shambala Preserve, Acton, CA
Born Nathalie Kay Hedren, Tippi Hedren started out as a model and pervaded New York and Los Angeles. Success came quickly for the stunning Hedren. Having starred in television commercials, Hedren’s beauty was noticed by director Alfred Hitchcock who subsequently cast her in films such as The Birds and Marnie. While acting, Hedren had dropped some investment money in the Shambala Preserve in Southern California during the 1970s that aimed to rescue exotic cats; she also pushed through with the Roar Foundation that continues her effort with animals.
The Shambala Preserve also serves as Tippi’s home. The preserve covers a vast 72-acres of land with big cats (around 13 to 15) roaming freely around the property. The tamed cats coexist with the celebrity and her family and sometimes would join them on their afternoon swim. There are also several photos of the lions lying around their wood-floored house with oversized windows.
