Pennsylvania Does Not Have The Largest Amish Population In The US

As we said earlier, the first Amish immigrants settled into the colony of Pennsylvania. However, they didn’t stay there forever. In turn, the state of Pennsylvania does not have the largest population of Amish people in the United States. You could say that the common association about Pennsylvania as a state receiving credit for having the most Amish people is false as they certainly were able to spread out across other parts of the United States.

It turns out that Pennsylvania’s neighbors to the west have a slight edge to them when it comes to the Amish population. The latest U.S. Census reveals that the state of Ohio has the largest Amish population in the entire country. However, the state of Pennsylvania comes in at a close second, and it does not fall far behind as they’re only a few hundred Amish people behind them.
