Steven Seagal | Sheriff

Martial artist and actor Steven Seagal was one of the most remarkable action movie stars of the ’80s and ’90s. As a child, he began learning martial arts, practicing aikido and Shito-Ryu karate, and later opened a dojo in West Hollywood, California. He began pursuing other ventures, such as entering the world of Hollywood action films.

Seagal’s first trial in acting was in the movie Above the Law, which saw a public release in 1988. His subsequent films Hard to Kill and Out for Justice helped gas up his Hollywood status as an action hero. He continued his movie career in the ’90s, appearing in several box office successes. Outside the show business, Seagal has served as a sheriff in the town, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, and at the same time starred in Steven Seagal: Lawman. This series documented his work as a Reserve Deputy Chief.
