Phoebe Cates | Boutique Owner

It’s safe to say that Phoebe Cates will remain in our memories for her credit role as “Linda Barrett” in the iconic series Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Cates had a bustling acting career in the 1980s and the 1990s. Some of her most memorable acting roles during those decades were in Gremlins and several other films. However, she decided to turn her back on the entertainment industry, and she started a new chapter in her life.

The change came when she married fellow actor Kevin Kline back in 1989. Cates essentially retired from acting so that she can shift her complete focus into raising their two children. Today, Phoebe is living a quiet life in New York as a boutique owner. She owns a boutique shop called “Blue Tree,” which opened in 2005 in Manhattan’s Carnegie Hill Neighborhood.
