Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan first met on the set of Family Ties. Fox takes credit for the role of Alex P. Keaton while Pollan played the role of Ellen Reed. For some time, their characters were romantically involved. Despite that, the two didn’t immediately start dating as they were involved with different people at the time. However, the two met again a few years later and this time they were both single.

In an interview, the actor subtly admitted that he was thrilled to hear that Pollan was no longer in a relationship at the time. He didn’t waste time and immediately seized his chance. They dated for seven months before he popped the question. They got married in 1988 and currently, they have four children. Despite being married for more than three decades, the two are still very much in love. Fox has even said that the recent book he published is a love letter to his wife.
