The Amish Can Vote in US Elections, But Only A Few Do
The Amish people have more similarities with regular Americans than you think! It turns out the Amish people can vote in the national elections. They’re still considered American citizens, and the right to vote is one that’s given to them without any catch. Though they can vote and participate in the national elections, it’s not a widespread trend. Interestingly, only a few of the Amish culture exercise their right to vote.
One study suggested that only less than 15 percent of eligible Amish voters cast their vote for the presidential elections from the entire Amish population. You could say that the 15 percent deserves a ton of credit for exercising their right to vote. Voting for the next president certainly isn’t popular for the Amish. However, some Amish people willingly participate and even make their presence be felt in the political process.
