American Origin Dates Back to the 1600s

The Amish people aren’t a new class of American immigrants. They’ve already been in the United States of America since the 1600s, more specifically back in 1693. The first Amish families made the transition into America in order to escape religious persecution. Without a doubt, they escaped the persecution that they were facing and were able to thrive for hundreds of years into the present.

The first families of Amish origin chose to settle in the colony of Pennsylvania. It’s worth noting that they didn’t just choose Pennsylvania by any lucky chance, as the state deserves credit because of its openness for religious freedom. You could make the case that Pennsylvania’s openness for religious freedom helped their culture survive and thrive up into the present. Of course, the Amish culture also deserves recognition for their survival up into this modern-day society.
