Agnetha Faltskog | Telephonist

Swedish singer Agnetha Faltskog is beloved for her self-titled album, which she released back in 1968. What she is most known about, however, is her affiliation as a member of the girl pop group ABBA. As a band, they have sold more than 380 million singles and albums worldwide, making them one of the most prolific musical groups ever. After the group disbanded, Faltskog tried going solo, where she achieved moderate success. She then shied away from the public eye until a musical comeback in 2004 and 2013.

Not much is known about what she did during the more than two decades she was out of public scrutiny, but we know that Faltskog worked as a telephonist for a car company in her early years. That would be the equivalent of today’s customer service representative—so she probably received complaints, gave advice on gas usage, maximizing mileage, and fixing simple car troubles.
