While most of his earlier stints in the business were for modeling gigs, Michael Schoeffling also spent time preparing for his acting career. Thanks to that, his first outing instantly brought him to worldwide fame. Debuting with the 1984 film Sixteen Candles, Michael and his on-screen persona Jake Ryan have since become one of the industry’s most beloved figures.

Michael concluded acting after just seven years under the spotlight, with his last appearance being in the 1991 movie, Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken. Since then, he’s been enjoying a more low-profile lifestyle, working as a wood craftsman. He even has his very own woodworking shop to make his handmade crafts in. Meanwhile, his daughter Scarlett seems to be following in his footsteps. Like a literal case of history repeating, Scarlett is currently working as a model, though she already has a couple of acting gigs coming her way.
