Gabourey Sidibe showed off her acting chops in the award-winning film Precious, which won her numerous nominations for her film debut. With this kind of attention coming from prestigious award-giving bodies, it is clear that Sidibe was an actress to watch out for. She did not disappoint as her following films highlighted her screen presence. Among her works include Yelling to The Sky, Tower Heist, as well as Seven Psychopaths.

Sidibe also made a splash on TV shows such as in The Big C which ran for four seasons. Another was portraying a witch named Queenie in American Horror Story: Coven. She also appeared in Difficult People and in Empire where she took on the role of Becky. She has appeared as a guest in Saturday Night Live, Drunk History, and in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sidibe’s investments went to her getting a bariatric surgery to help her control her weight after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
