HARRY BELAFONTE | 93, $28 MILLION

Harold George Bellanfanti Jr., or professionally known as Harry Belafonte,  is a Jamaican-American singer, songwriter, activist, and actor. He made his mark in history as one of the most successful pop artists in the industry. Perhaps, we heard a couple of his songs throughout our lifetime but genuinely know that he’s the man behind those hits.

Belafonte’s timeless hit, The Banana Boat Song, is one of his creations that will go down in history as one of the leading movers of the Jamaican-Caribbean music in the mainstream media. We know that credit cards are still not a thing during that era, but he impressively made huge sales in LPs back in the days. In fact, he’s the first artist that managed to hit the first million-selling LP coming from a single artist. In 2014, he won the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Academy’s 6th Annual Governors Award.
