Spike Lee | Filmmaker and Producer | $50 Million

In 1985, Spike Lee started making his first feature film, he’s gotta have it. He had a budget of $175000 and made the whole film in just two weeks. When the film was released in 1986, it grossed more than $7 million in the United States. The famed filmmaker has numerous classics to his name, including Malcolm X, Jungle Fever, and Do the Right Thing. Spike’s 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks has also produced over thirty-five of his movies since 1983, but early retirement isn’t in the cards for this talented artist.

Despite having earned both acclaim and a hefty amount of investment money since he began his career, Spike Lee is still pushing forward. Is he doing it for the Knicks tickets, though? After all, in an estimate reported in 2020, he has spent over $10 million on courtside seats, across three decades of going to the games.
