CHARLIE CHAPLIN
Charlie Chaplin had more than cemented his place in Hollywood – he’s carved his own legacy in the industry. The comedian was one of the few personalities who made a successful transition from silent films to films with sounds and dialogue. He proved himself to be great at both comedy and drama in one of the best political satires of all time, The Great Dictator.
His final speech in the film roused the attention of the FBI, who then questioned the actor’s political views. This forced him to call a moving company and leave the country.
MICHAEL MASSEE
Some roles just hunt you even after filming. This can be said about Michael Masse after he accidentally shot dead his co-star, Brandon Lee, on the set of The Crow. The prop gun was supposed to be loaded with a blank, but unfortunately, when Masse shot it, it had a live round that led to Lee’s death.
Though the accident was not to any degree his fault, Massee was still traumatized by what happened and suffered nightmares about his co-star’s death. This led him to take a break from the industry before coming back to The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
PAMELA ANDERSON
Pamela Anderson rose to fame when she starred in the hit series, Baywatch. The Canadian model-actress breathed life into the character of CJ Parker. Unfortunately, Anderson proved to have limited acting chops when she starred in the adaptation of the comic book series, Barb Wire.
With her fame short-lived, Anderson filed for bankruptcy and is rumored to owe the IRS more than $2 million in delinquency taxes, with her net worth suffering as badly as her career.
JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT
Jennifer Love Hewitt was on her way to cementing her place in the film industry in the 90s when she starred in films such as Can’t Hardly Wait and I Know What You Did Last Summer. That was until she took the project entitled Jewtopia, an adaptation of a long-running off-Broadway film.
The film was centered on the debacle, Christian O’ Connell (played by Ivan Sergei) found himself in when he pretended to be Jewish to get close to the girl of his dreams. Had it happened in real life, lawyers would’ve most likely gotten involved. The film got negative reviews.
Since then, Hewitt focused on her television career with success in shows like Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, and 9-1-1.
